The Irpinia is not only a geographical reality consists of 119 villages, liyng on the Appennino mountains in Southern Italy, but especially the natural habitat of a people with secular traditions.

The Irpini (people of Irpinia), and the wolf ( "hirpus", animal sacred to Mars, the God of war) carries the name and the pride. Irpinia's people are always been hard-working, simple and hospitable; their tenacity has made a large and fertile territory predominantly mountainous, with dense vegetation, thanks to rivers, streams, lakes and jumps of water, that wherever make living the landscape.

This land wild and lush, "green heart "of Campania, produces vines of excellence that are included among the aristocracy of Italian wine.

The peculiar winemaker vocation of the Iprinia is facilitated by an exceptional combination of air and light, which allows gradual maturation grapes, and a valuable wine production officially recognized.


Cold winters and hot summers ensure excellent vintages, moderate ventilation discourages the growth of mold and prevent the spread of pests. The sun promotes maturation of juices, for a final result in the bottle that have to be tasted.
 

Grapes and vineyards of Irpinia  
The vineyards of "Casali dei baroni" extend for a total of ten hectares, near the winery, located on the sweet hills of Irpinia territory in Campania (south of Italy), at an altitude ranging from 300 to 650 meters above sea level and are equipped with excellent exposure.

The grapes are those typical of this Italian territory: Piedirosso, Aglianico, Coda di Volpe, Fiano, Greek di Tufo and Falanghina. "Casali dei Baroni" devotes great care and time to specialized cultivation of the vines, with an eye to the environment, to produce grapes of high quality, which allow wines quality marks such as IGT (Typical geographic Indication), DOC (Guaranteed Origin) and D.O.C.G (Guaranteed Geographic origin).
